It all became clear to me in the Antarctic Centre.

There was this model of the Antarctic continent surrounded by the Southern Ocean (of course). It was, like, this huge section of the globe (the Earth) with the South Pole at the top. We could run our hands over it if we wanted.

Straight away I could see that Antarctica was covered with ice (oh really, you say?). Yes, but the ice was so thick. Like, kilometres thick.

That's why Antarctica is the highest continent in the world. (Though the weight of the ice dents the Earth so it's not perfectly round in the South Pole area.)
