The problem with the Dear Dr Claire thing is that Virginia is doing all the writing.

It's really only Axel who is writing letters independently. Of course he has a good reason for doing so. Although they're short letters.

But I think I'll give the letters a miss and start some poetry writing tomorrow. We'll concentrate on metaphor. A guess-who-my-poem-is-about competition should be good to kick off with. I'll ask one of the kids to combine it with their puzzle challenge.

Andrew gave me a copy of a poem by a kid at a school where he used to teach. It was about his baby brother. I like it but I'll modify the style a bit--get rid of the he's and she's...
