It wasn't till half past ten this morning that I realised that Susan had been in my classroom all morning. She'd come in at some stage with Danielle to read her hieroglyphics and ended up having a conversation with everyone in the room except me.
It was only when her mobile phone rang that I knew there was an adult in the room.
'Very impressive, Kim,' she said later. 'I think they're even learning something.' Then... 'Make sure you take some photos for your portfolio before you take it down at the end of the term.'
Which got me panicking because I have done nothing about the kids' portfolios this term. Susan certainly knows how to be direct without being direct. So I explained about the book responses and the writing program.
